SURVEY ON COMPANIES WITH
FOREIGN LIABILITIES IN TANZANIA
The Bank of Tanzania in collaboration with Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority and the Office of Chief Government Statistician are conducting a survey on companies/establishments With foreign liabilities in Zanzibar. The main objective of the survey is to assess the impact of Foreign private investments on the economy, update the country’s Balance of Payments (BoP) and International Investment Position (IIP} as well as informing on policy decisions.
The survey will be conducted during December 2020 to February 2021 and will cover data for 2019. During the survey, a team of researchers and enumerators will meet the heads of finance of the selected establishments for gathering the information needed. In this regard, the selected Companies/establishments are requested to;
- extend maximum co-operation to researchers and enumerators;
- provide the requested information by completing survey questionnaires;
- Provide the researchers with the company have audited financial statements for 2019. Where audited financial statements are not ready, your best estimates or provisional financial statements will suffice;
- Observe the deadline of one week for the completion of the questionnaire after its receipt to enable processing of the information timely.
Respondents are kindly reminded to observe that, provision of the information is compulsory under Act No. 14 of 2018 of the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) Section 21(j); Act No 9 of 2007 of Office of Chief Government Statistician (OCGS) as well as Bank of Tanzania Act 2006.
The requested information will be strictly used for statistical purposes and will be published in aggregate form.
