Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Toensure the quality and safety of welds and welded structures by verifying adherence to company standards and regulations through visual inspection and various NDT Method.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate of Secondary School Education with Welding and Fabrication certificate  Level three or its equivalent.
  •  Must possess valid Tanzanian Driving license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years  working experience as a Welding Inspector.
  • Proficient in the use of Magnetic particle testing equipment and all areas of ultrasonic and Dye penetrant inspection process.
  •  Knowledge in non-Destructive Test(NDT)method in welding inspection activities (MPI,DPI and UT).

            MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform Non-Destructive Testing on site and providing specialist feedback and report for corrective action.
  • Verify that all welding in compliant with specified welding procedures, including pre heat, and inter pass temperature control and post heat and post heat requirement.
  • To ensure that all welders are following the procedure and report any noncompliance.
  •  Study all NDT results and present a written report relating to faults.
  • Responsible for NDT methods such as liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing.

  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver.
  • Positive attitude towards safety and environment compliance.
  • Should be a good team player.
  • Must be physical and mentally fit.
