We are recruiting for our new seaweed processing biorefinery. This factory is developing novel solar biorefinery technologies and will be the first of its kind along the seashores of Africa. The location is Kilwa Masoko.
The job positions available include the following:
Position Title: Head of Analytical Chemistry Lab
The successful candidate will manage the complete lab operations and oversee functions, including but not limited to:
- Contracting for analytical tests to be performed by third-party contractors.
- Supervising or undertaking adherence to specimen preparation procedures.
- Implementing new programs, tests, methods, and instrumentation.
- Establishing quality standards to maintain laboratory equipment performance.
- Ensuring that informational needs are met through laboratory information systems.
- Maintaining laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Meeting operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
Required Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree or above in plant science, agronomy, or related fields.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience.
Position Title: Solar Seaweed Bio refinery Process Engineer
The successful candidate shall assist in developing and implementing process protocols and functions, including but not limited to:
- Defining operational protocols for implementation by biorefinery supervisors and staff.
- Focus on how light and heat exposure during solar processing damage bioactive constituents and use technology that minimizes any deleterious impacts of solar technology.
- Quantifying the cost/return features of the best available mechanical systems that could augment or replace solar technology.
- Implementing new processes, tests, methods, and instrumentation.
- Establishing quality standards to maintain biorefinery equipment performance.
- Achieving quality results by participating in the biorefinery quality assurance program.
- Ensuring that informational needs are met through management information systems.
Required Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree or above in analytical chemistry or any other related field.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience.
Position Title: Head of Efficacy Testing Lab
The successful candidate will manage efficacy testing and field trials programs as facilities and arrangements are set up and will oversee functions including, but not limited to:
- Contracting for bioassays and field trials to be performed by third-party contractors with specialized facilities.
- Supervising bioassay and field testing procedures being undertaken at C-Weed Mwani in-house facilities.
- Establishing quality standards to maintain laboratory equipment performance.
- Keeping supplies stocked by determining inventory levels.
- Maintaining laboratory productivity by managing workloads.
Required Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical or chemical engineering.
- Five or more years of plant engineering experience.
