Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out signal and telecommunication technical duties related to railway systems and infrastructure.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining S&T equipment and systems.
- Overseeing market utilization and expansion of the fibre optic cable along the railway network.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing SGR/MGR signals and telecommunication network equipment.
- Taking part in accident investigations in collaboration with other departments.
- Participating in the maintenance of:
- Train control systems
- Electronic warrant systems
- Cargo and wagon tracking systems
- Yard radio systems
- Underground cables
- Internal office communication systems
- Contributing to the preparation of reports, plans, and designs for S&T projects.
- Preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
- Preparing and submitting periodical technical reports.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Holder of a Full Technician Certificate (FTC); or
- Ordinary Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering; or
- An equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Remuneration
The successful candidates will be paid according to the TRCS 3 salary scale.
