
The Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) is a national assessment administered to candidates who have successfully completed two years of advanced-level secondary education and have attained a minimum of three credits at the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) level.
The ACSEE is conducted annually during the second week of May.
Examination Objectives:
Evaluate the candidates’ knowledge and their preparedness for further academic pursuits, including diploma and degree programs. Assess the extent to which candidates can apply acquired skills to address social, political, economic, and technological challenges relevant to both individual and national development.
Consequently, candidates at this level are expected to demonstrate proficiency in a range of cognitive skills, encompassing knowledge recall, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation across various subject areas.
To be eligible for the ACSEE, candidates must have completed two years of advanced-level secondary education and possess a minimum of three credits at the CSEE level.
Examined Subjects/Courses in the ACSEE
Compulsory Subject: General Studies. Science Combinations: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM); Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB); Physics, Geography, and Mathematics (PGM); Economics, Geography, and Mathematics (EGM); Chemistry, Biology, and Geography (CBG); Chemistry, Biology, and Agriculture (CBA); and Chemistry, Biology, and Food and Human Nutrition (CBN). Arts Combinations: History, Geography, and English Language (HGL); History, Geography, and Kiswahili (HGK); History, Kiswahili, and English Language (HKL); Kiswahili, English Language, and French (KLF); Economics, Commerce, and Accountancy (ECA); and History, Geography, and Economics (HGE).
