About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed within budget, on time, and in line with quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and expenditure forecasts.
• Measure and value the work done on-site, including materials, labour, and overheads.
• Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities.
• Analyse construction project costs, ensuring value for money.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract management.
• Monitor and report on project cash flow and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to obtain the best prices.
• Conduct risk assessments to minimize financial risks.
• Manage and review contracts to ensure timely payments and adherence to terms.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Membership with a recognized professional body is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying for construction or civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgets, and financial management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
