NMB Bank Recruitment in Tanzania: 9 Job Opportunities in Banking, Legal, Customer Service and Management

NMB Bank Plc is recruiting professionals for nine employment positions across eight different job categories in Tanzania. The opportunities cover customer service, e-learning, legal services, business transformation, agricultural banking, commercial relationship management, financial crime compliance and value chain banking.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

1. Contact Center Advisor; Inclusive desk (Fixed term – 1 year)

NMB Bank is seeking a Contact Center Advisor to provide customer support through telephone calls and digital communication channels while offering specialised assistance to customers with hearing impairments.

The position combines general banking customer service with accessible communication support, including sign language, video communication and digital messaging.

Key responsibilities include responding to customer enquiries and complaints, assisting with banking products and transactions, recording cases in customer relationship management systems and following up on unresolved issues. The successful candidate will also support branches that require specialised communication assistance for customers with disabilities.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.

Professional certification or demonstrated capability in sign language is mandatory. Previous experience handling customer calls, complaints and follow-up activities, preferably in banking or financial services, is an added advantage.The position may involve working shifts, including weekends and public holidays, depending on contact centre operational requirements.

2. E-learning Advisor (Fixed Term – 2 Years)

The E-learning Advisor will support the design, development and evaluation of learning programmes for NMB Bank employees.

Working with subject matter experts and human resources teams, the successful candidate will develop interactive training materials using multimedia technologies, instructional design principles and learning management systems.

Responsibilities include designing online courses, producing audio and video learning materials, managing course approvals, evaluating training effectiveness and reporting learning outcomes. The role also involves providing classroom and online training support.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in ICT Mediated Content Development, Multimedia Technologies and Animations, or a related specialisation, together with at least two years of experience in learning and talent development, training or similar roles.

Candidates should have experience using e-learning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia or comparable applications. Knowledge of multimedia development, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript is also relevant.

3. Legal Counsel; General Contracts

The Legal Counsel will support NMB Bank in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and administering general commercial contracts.

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Manager; General Contracts to identify contractual risks, maintain legal records, provide advice to business departments and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies.

The position also involves conducting legal research, preparing legal opinions and documentation, coordinating with external legal practitioners and representing the bank in relevant legal proceedings.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
  • Must be a practising advocate.
  • At least three years of experience in a commercial legal environment.
  • Knowledge of contract law, banking law, company law and Tanzanian legal regulations.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation and communication skills.

A master’s degree in business studies or relevant banking certifications will be an added advantage.

4. Operation Transformation Analyst

A Lean Six Sigma certification and three years of organisational change experience are required. Candidates should also have experience in business process re-engineering within the banking or financial services sector.

Project management certification and Certified Business Analyst credentials are additional advantages.

5. Relationship Manager; Agri Retail Monitoring

The Relationship Manager; Agri Retail Monitoring will oversee the quality and performance of agricultural retail loans issued through NMB Bank’s branch network.

Responsibilities include analysing agricultural loan portfolios, monitoring arrears, reviewing loan documentation, supporting credit operations and preparing performance reports for management.

The successful candidate will also provide guidance to field relationship officers on lending procedures, credit assessment and agricultural banking practices.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of banking experience, including work in credit assessment, project appraisal or other banking operations.

6. Relationship Manager; Commercial – Chinese Desk

NMB Bank is recruiting two Relationship Managers to support the growth and management of its Chinese commercial business customer portfolio.

The role involves providing banking solutions to Chinese commercial customers, developing client relationships and supporting business growth through deposits, lending, foreign exchange, trade finance and digital banking products.

Responsibilities include evaluating credit applications, coordinating commercial business development initiatives, managing customer relationships and working with branch teams to expand the bank’s Chinese business portfolio.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or a related field, together with at least four years of experience in SME or commercial banking lending, or business banking relationship management.

The successful candidate will also participate in financial crime risk assessments, policy reviews, compliance monitoring and staff awareness programmes.

Knowledge of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, financial crime investigations and regulatory compliance is essential.
