The Aga Khan Education Services in Tanzania operates three schools, offering education from nursery to secondary levels. The roots of Aga Khan schools in Tanzania trace back to the 19th century, beginning with a girls’ school established in Zanzibar in 1905 by Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan III. Today, AKES,T continues this legacy by implementing educational programs that equip students with essential life skills and a strong intellectual foundation, preparing them to thrive in an increasingly globalized and technologically advanced world.

AKES, T is seeking a qualified and dedicated Science Subject Teacher specializing in Biology and Chemistry to join our academic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Biology and Chemistry according to the National Curriculum from Form One to Form Four.
• Conduct and supervise practical lessons and laboratory experiments related to both subjects.
• Prepare students for candidate classes and national examinations with a strong focus on performance.
• Develop lesson plans, assessments, and revision programs to support student achievement.
• Maintain proper use, safety, and organization of the science laboratories.

The requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification majoring in Biology and Chemistry.
• 3–4 years of proven teaching experience at secondary school level.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching candidate classes with good national examination results.
• Valid Laboratory Technician Certificate in Biology and Chemistry (added advantage)
• Strong practical skills and ability to manage laboratory activities effectively.
• Good communication skills and a passion for student success.
