What you will do

The successful candidate will be responsible for co-creating advanced machine learning products that support business growth, reduce costs, and improve customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing big data monetization propositions and managing their end-to-end execution.
• Delivering actionable insights to support M-Pesa Customer Value Management objectives and targets.
• Supporting the development of advanced machine learning capabilities across M-Pesa and Vodafone globally.
• Contributing to revenue growth, customer conversion, and improved business decision-making through analytics and machine learning.

Key accountabilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

• Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Supporting data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple sources.
• Managing end-to-end go-to-market execution for big data and special project propositions.
• Preparing analytics and machine learning model results for business users.
• Developing machine learning models for various areas of the business using the Big Data Platform.
• Supporting business teams with data-driven recommendations and actionable insights.
• Ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely delivery of big data and machine learning initiatives.

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar big data or data science role.

  • Data Journalism
  • Related fields
• Significant knowledge of customer-driven marketing techniques and processes.
• Proficiency in Python and the associated data science ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning and experimental design.
• Expertise in data manipulation using structured data tools such as SQL.
• Experience with unstructured data tools and platforms such as:
  • Hadoop
  • Spark
  • NoSQL
• Project knowledge and experience will be an added advantage.
