Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

1. To perform shunting duties within the station yards, sidings and running depots within the home station.
2. To perform shunting duties within the station yards, sidings and running depots within the home station.
3. To check the locomotive fitness before use.
4. To report any problem noted in the locomotive during the course of driving.
5. To record all important events occurring during shunting.
6. Recording the fuel balance on start and at the end of the shunting duties.
7. To perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• A Form IV academic certificate.
• A two-year Locomotive Driving Certificate or Locomotive Shunting Certificate offered by TIRTEC or any recognized institution.
• A Class F or G driving licence.

Remuneration

The position carries a salary scale of TRCS 3.
