Job description

WinBill Shop is seeking a Financial Accountant to undertake the following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

• Manage cash operations, including:
  • Making payments to suppliers.
  • Receiving cash from cashiers at the end of their shifts.
  • Issuing floats to cashiers.
  • Handling the shop’s main petty cash.
  • Managing supplies.
  • Ensuring sufficient cash is available to pay suppliers when required.
• Manage bank transactions by:
  • Ensuring daily cash sales are deposited in the bank on the next working day.
  • Performing periodic bank reconciliations.
  • Conducting cash-count reconciliations.
• Manage inventory by ensuring that physical stock movements from the shop are reconciled with inventory balances recorded in the system.
• Monitor expired or defective items in the shop.
• Monitor the movement of raw materials used for bakery production and analyse productivity based on the raw materials procured.
• Manage the shop’s fixed assets and ensure they are properly recorded and maintained in a fixed asset register.
• Manage supplier information, particularly for suppliers who provide goods on credit, and monitor their credit terms.
• Ensure the shop complies with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all transactions are entered into the accounting package on time and properly analysed.
• Prepare and issue financial reports as requested by the directors from time to time.
• Attend to internal and external auditors and ensure the shop receives clean audit reports.
• Assume managerial responsibilities when the manager is unavailable to ensure the shop floor is properly attended.
• Provide technical input to shop-floor attendants when required.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Be a graduate of a recognised institute or college in Tanzania.
• Possession of a CPA qualification will be an added advantage.
• Have at least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in the same industry will be an added advantage.
• Be prepared to work long hours.
• Be ready to start work at short notice.
• Residents of Kimara or Mbezi are preferred.
