The Engineer II (Electro-Mechanical) will be responsible for the following duties:

Executing and monitoring preventive maintenance schedules for electric and diesel locomotives.
Supporting predictive maintenance activities using diagnostic tools and fault history.
Diagnosing and repairing faults in electromechanical systems, including:
- Electric traction systems.
- Diesel locomotive systems.
- Auxiliary systems, such as pumps, compressors, fans, HVAC components, battery and charger systems, lighting, and related systems.
Inspecting all electrical machinery at the quarries and the insulation level of conductors in rolling stock, machinery, and buildings.
Conducting functional checks, insulation testing, continuity checks, ground fault checks where applicable, and performance verification.
Providing technical guidance to maintenance technicians on:
- Troubleshooting.
- Safe work practices.
- Best maintenance methods.
Proposing reliability improvements, including:
- Spares optimization.
- Procedure updates.
- Design or process improvements.
Assisting in onboarding and skills development for electromechanical maintenance staff.
Using appropriate diagnostic equipment, including:
- Locomotive test tools.
- Multimeters.
- Insulation testers.
- Fault code readers.
- Scope, where available.
Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements:

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Candidates must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as Graduate Engineer.

The successful candidates will be paid according to the TRCS 6 salary scale.
