Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing driving duties and ensuring the proper care, safety, and maintenance of assigned vehicles. Duties will include:
- Driving vehicles to approved destinations in accordance with traffic regulations.
- Undertaking minor mechanical repairs when required.
- Taking vehicles due for routine maintenance or repair to the appointed service agent.
- Maintaining motor vehicle log books.
- Conducting pre-inspection of the assigned vehicle before travelling.
- Reporting mechanical damages or defects identified during vehicle inspections.
- Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
- Ensuring that valid documents and permits are acquired before the commencement of any journey.
- Promptly reporting accidents or incidents involving vehicles to the relevant authority.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Holder of a Secondary Education Certificate with passes in Kiswahili and English.
- Valid Driving License Class C or E.
- One-year Basic Driving Certificate offered by VETA or the National Institute of Transport (NIT).
- At least one year of accident-free driving experience.
Added advantage
- Possession of Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics will be an added advantage.
