Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst (open to all genders) to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about leveraging data to drive business success in e-commerce, B2B, or technology-driven industries.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in e-commerce, B2B, or technology-driven industries.
• Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Ability to translate financial policies and strategic recommendations into actionable accounting practices, ensuring proper implementation.
• Strong sense of method, accuracy, and organization in handling and analyzing data.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret, summarize, and transform raw data into actionable business insights.
• Proficient in office automation tools and data analytics software, including Excel, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Solid understanding of data management principles, reporting standards, and basic statistical analysis.
• Team-oriented, rigorous, and reliable, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments.
• Proactive, with strong initiative and problem-solving skills for data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of translating complex data into clear insights for stakeholders.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken), able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R, product analytics tools, and e-commerce or B2B business metrics is a plus.

Your Challenges

As a Data Analyst at AXIAN, you will:

• Translate business questions and strategic recommendations into actionable data analysis and insights.
• Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources (databases, CRM, marketing tools, financial systems) to support decision-making across departments.
• Conduct analyses, ad-hoc queries, and statistical evaluations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, business trends, and performance metrics.
• Gather and organize large datasets required for reporting, experiments, and business intelligence.
• Support commercial, product, sales, and operations teams with actionable insights to improve performance.
• Monitor and validate data quality, identify gaps in collection, and collaborate with engineering or IT teams to improve tracking and reporting.
• Assimilate company operations and business processes to provide contextualized analysis and recommendations.
• Stay up to date with analytics tools, methodologies, and best practices to ensure effective and accurate data-driven insights.
