Duties and Responsibilities
The Civil Technician II (Rail Track Technology) will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, planning, inspection, and construction supervision of railway track works and related civil infrastructure.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Undertaking maintenance of bridges, culverts, buildings, and track works.
- Reading and reviewing project drawings and plans to determine the sizes of structures.
- Preparing track maintenance plans and submitting them to the supervisor.
- Taking part in testing construction materials and soil samples in laboratories.
- Ensuring that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable permanent way requirements.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Full Technician Certificate (FTC); or
- Ordinary Diploma, NTA Level 6.
The qualification should be in one of the following fields:
- Rail Track Technology; or
- An equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Remuneration
Successful candidates will be paid according to the TRC salary scale:
