MCB Company Limited is a company owned by Mbeya University of Science and Technology, established to provide professional services in construction industry, including engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, project management, and related fields.

The Company invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and reputable individuals to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Chairperson of the Board of Directors – (1 Post)

1.1 Duties And Responsibilities

1. Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight;
2.  Lead Board effectiveness and management oversight; and
3. Oversee financial, operational, and stakeholder performance.

1.2 Academic Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

1. A Master’s Degree in Science (MSc), Business Administration (MBA), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
2. A certificate in Corporate Governance/Board Leadership (e.g., Institute of Directors Tanzania (IoDT) or an equivalent recognized institution) and/or Project Management (e.g., PMI) will be an added advantage.

1.3 Professional Experience

Applicants should have:

1.  Membership or registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., ERB, AQRB, NBAA, or equivalent) is desirable;
2. At least ten (10) years of progressive professional experience in the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sector;
3.  At least five (5) years of experience in senior executive management or board-level leadership; and
4. Demonstrated success in providing strategic leadership and oversight of large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, including management of multi-million project portfolios.

1.4 Tenure

The Chairperson shall serve a term of four (4) years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one additional term, subject to applicable laws and governing instruments.

1.5 Remuneration

The Chairperson of the Board of Directors shall be entitled to remuneration and other applicable benefits as provided under the MCB Incentive Scheme.

3. Mode of application

Interested and eligible candidates should submit:

1. All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and must be at least 35 years old but not more than 70 years old;
2. Applicants should apply based on the information provided in this advertisement;
3. Applicants should clearly indicate the position they are applying for (Chairperson or Board Member);
4. Applicants must attach a detailed and signed Curriculum Vitae (CV), including the names and full contact addresses of three (3) referees;
5. Applicants must attach certified copies of their academic and professional certificates;
6. Certificates awarded by foreign universities must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);
7. Certificates issued by foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced Level education must be verified by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA);
8. The submission of forged certificates or any false information will result in automatic disqualification and may lead to legal action;
9. Applicants must attach a recent passport-size photograph and a certified copy of their birth certificate;
10. Applicants must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) issued by the National Identification Authority (NIDA);
11. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date of the interview; and
