The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI), under the Ministry of Transport, invites qualified and motivated young Tanzanian graduates to apply for 9 internship positions for the 2026/2027 financial year. The internship program is designed to provide practical workplace experience, professional mentorship, and skill enhancement across technical, IT, and public relations functions.

Duties: Assist in repairing/maintaining computers and audio-visual equipment; ensure computer lab equipment functions properly; provide basic end-user IT support and assist students during lab practicals.
Qualification: Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Computer Science from a recognized institution.
Duties: Design, install, configure, and review LAN/WAN infrastructure; test network hardware; implement network security plans; conduct network troubleshooting.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (NTA Level 8) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Duties: Assist in tasks related to electrical simulators, workshop practicals, student projects, research, and consultancy; support repair and maintenance of electrical facilities.
Qualification: Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Duties: Carry out practical tasks on refrigeration and air-conditioning simulators, workshops, and HVAC facilities; assist in maintaining equipment and supporting senior technical staff.
Qualification: FTC or Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering, or Diploma in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering.
Duties: Support civil engineering workshop practicals, laboratory sessions, construction projects, and research; assist in maintaining civil engineering facilities.
Qualification: FTC or Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Duties: Perform plumbing craft tasks under supervision; maintain and record repair reports; care for plumbing tools and ensure facility safety.
Qualification: Form IV/VI Certificate plus Certificate, Trade Test II, or National Vocational Award Level II (NVA II) in Plumbing.
Duties: Conduct carpentry craft duties; maintain repair reports; assist in maintenance activities and secure tools and equipment.
Qualification: Form IV/VI Certificate plus Certificate, Trade Test II, or National Vocational Award Level II (NVA II) in Carpentry.
Duties: Collect news for the institute newsletter; compile content for annual reports, speeches, and prospectuses; file press cuttings; assist with events, ceremonies, media broadcasts, and customer inquiries.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Business Communication, or equivalent.
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Age Limit: Between 18 and 45 years of age at the time of application.
