Business Operations Manager

Job Location: Dar Es Salaam

Minimum Requirements Education requirements

  1. Degree in business management or related field, or significant (up to 5 years) of work experience at the Managerial level for manufacturing Industry
  2. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in relevant areas which uses PPEs of work such as: Mining, Construction, Oil & Gas, Trade & Logistics and Operations Management (experience in a business with manufacturing plant will be added advantage)
  3. Knowledge of Basic Business Management principles and evidence of execution will be Key

Summary An operations manager works as the right person to the General Manager Customer Facing operations ensuring all Leading Clients are well serviced, engaged and supported. They will also be responsible for driving overall business growth in new territories / markets by managing business performance objectives for the company’s businesses. They will help develop, review and implement the business strategy together with local management and relevant stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Translate business strategy into pragmatic action plans which deliver value to shareholders

  8. Draft, negotiate and secure contracts for local and international clients

Production Manager

Summary The Production Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of garment production. This includes supporting the development and refinement of product designs, conducting comprehensive costing and feasibility analyses, and coordinating the creation of samples through to full-scale production. The role also entails ensuring strict adherence to quality control standards, optimizing production efficiency, and maintaining alignment with company objectives. In addition, the Production Manager will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing the production and delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of orders. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold the company’s quality benchmarks, meet delivery commitments, and achieve factory performance targets.

  • Qualified Risk Management
  • Qualified Auditor / Auditing experience

Work experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in Factory based. Production or manufacturing sites performing SHEQ activities. Experience in Garments & PPE safety will be added advantage. Strong knowledge of safety standards, buyer requirements, PPE Standards, Compliance Requirements, ISO Requirements, Good communication and reporting skills.

Summary General responsibilities for the SHEQ Officer include coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Company’s SOPs and policies. Upholding Safety and Compliance of the workplace. Maintaining UpToDate Compliance Documentations and Trainings for the employees. Ensuring the Company and its stakeholders, employees and Contractors comply with legal and statutory requirements. SHEQ Officer shall participate in the investigation of all SHEQ-related incidents and accidents and shall be responsible for scheduling training, audits, inspections and conducting periodic supplier evaluations. SHEQ officer owns company SOPs execution and supervises all MANCOM departments in ensuring existence of updates SOPs, Execution of the approved SOPs and tracking records and documentation of the execution for audit purposes.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring statutory/regulatory requirements are complied. e.g. TBS, OSHA, WCF, FIRE, NEMC, GCLA, TDMA and Local Government authorities
  2. Supervise audit schedule for SHEQ Management Systems to be in compliant with ISO 45001:2018, ISO9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards
  3. Ensuring and coordinating OSHA annual medical checkups for employee’s fitness
  4. Ensuring and coordinating the creation of SHEQ Committee and ensuring that are effectively operating and functioning as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 2003
  5. Compilation and maintenance of SHEQ company records, files and other related files for various activities
  6. Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment for the company operations that covers all processes for all departments
  7. Ensure the workplace is free from all kinds of OHS incidents through proper worker engagements, intensified inductions and training
  8. Develop, Enforce and Track operationalization of all company SOPs and ensure they are always Dated
  9. Conduct periodic Inspection of incoming PPES and Raw Materials materials and ensure COA / COC for various products or materials are provided, certificate of origin and conformity is also shared
  10. Ensure quality of final products is maintained and adherence to as per sample approved by client and meets local and international standards
  11. Evaluate customer satisfaction periodically to ensure consistency on services that are offered by the Company
  12. Supervise cleaning and sanitation activities throughout the company
  13. Ensure the factory and its warehouse is free from pest infestation
  14. Ensures Personal Hygiene standards are adhered to among all staff. Coordinate and supervise disposal of affected products, by products and any other material that include damaged or expired items
  15. Ensure all employees are provided with PPE and are in full dress code as agreed by the company
  16. This also should take into consideration any health-related alerts such as COVID 19 control measures
  17. Conduct incident investigation, develop root cause analysis and prepare corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and enhance continuous improvement
  18. Take action / implement corrective measures to improve the findings
  19. Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted as planned and with the highest level of preparedness in any emergency situation with consideration of various groups of the available workforce
  20. Maintain records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements
