On behalf of our client, we seek to recruit a IP Network Engineer based in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania. The ideal candidate must have direct experience working in the telecommunications industry.
Job Description
- Design and implement IP network solutions for a telecommunications business.
- Provide engineering support for network technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, VPN, and QoS.
- Participate in the planning, installation, and management of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-profile network incidents.
- Maintain and optimize network performance through continuous improvement plans.
- Document standard operating procedures and network diagrams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 year’s experience in the telecommunications industry
- Minimum bachelor’s qualification in telecommunications engineering or any related field.
- Industry-related experience as an IP Network Engineer
- Professional certification (e.g. CCNA, CCNP)
- Solid background in network administration and architecture
- IP-based WANs, LANs, and transport hardware and software.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and IPv4/IPv6.)
- Familiarity with access control models and network security, Skills in securing networks with firewalls, Cisco ASA, and other security appliances.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Experience with configuring and managing VPNs, particularly IPsec.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS)
