Commencing of New Round of Co Payment Mechanism for Malaria Medicine with Subsidized Price for Treatment of Uncomplicated Malaria in Private Sector

Ministry of Health Community Development Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) through the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) is informing all stakeholders of supply chain for Malaria medicine in private sector that, the commencement of new round of co-payment mechanism (CPM) for Malaria medicine with subsidized price for treatment of uncomplicated Malaria in private sector from early September 2021. For successful implementation,
the MoHCDGEC is inviting all importers of medicine in country °First Line Buyers” (FLBs) to send their request to
participate in this exercise, so as to be shortlisted for assessment for their willingness to participate. The participants “FLBs” supposed to have the following criteria,
1. The participant has to be an importer of health commodities (medicine) in country registered by the available
authorities:
2. Must have all permits updated from the responsible authorities allowing to his/her participation on health Commodities business;
3. The participant must be willing to provide the information of their capital of his/her business to the assessment
team to rule out his /her ability to co-pay for the needed cost in co-payment mechanism from the commodity cost including other procurement and supply chain management cost;
4. The participant must be willing to be visited by assessment team to assess on the following:
- Presence of electronic system used in management of heath commodities and distribution to wholesalers and retailers:
- Presence of warehouse for storage of health commodities with adherence to health commodities requirements:
- Higher health commodities distribution network countrywide:
- To share other information based on the co-payment mechanism business requested in the assessment tools;
